Parents and students, please be aware that there will be no exceptions made to the Student Cell Phone/Electronics Policy this week for Homecoming at the High School. All cameras fall under this rule as well, and are not permitted between 8:00am and 3:25pm.
HSHS College Night is Tuesday night, Oct. 9th in the High School cafeteria from 5:00-7:00pm. Tables will be set up for browsing with representatives from state and surrounding universities and colleges. All Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores are encouraged to attend.

The American Legion Dept. of AR is sponsoring the National High School Oratorical Contest. The purpose is to develop knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution. Apps are in guidance or online @

The American Legion Auxiliary of AR is offering academic scholarships for a descendant of a veteran. Apps are online & in the guidance office. Deadline is March 12, 2019.
PEO Amelia Frankum Starlight Scholarship applications are available in the guidance office. Must be a senior female, resident of Cleburne Co., 3.0 GPA, community involvement, & extra curricular activities.
HSHS Financial Aid Night will be on Tuesday, Oct. 16th in the HS Cafeteria from 5:00-7:00. A representative from ASUHS will be on campus to assist with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
HSHS College Night will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 9th from 5:00-7:00 in the HS Cafeteria. College representatives will be on campus to talk to students and parents.
All students who are 16 years old before September 1, 2018 must have the MCV4 vaccination. The deadline to have this vaccine is October 1, 2018. After this deadline your child will not be allowed to attend public school until the vaccine is obtained or an exemption letter has been received by the school. No exceptions. Please check with your healthcare provider to see if your child is up to date on immunizations.
The High School Nurse will be available during Freshmen Orientation Tuesday night and Open House Thursday night to do medication checkins for any student who will receive medication at school this year. Parents, please feel free to bring your students medication to her. Thank you

Senior pictures will be taken by Wingard on Monday, August 6th at 9:00 am and will end at 11:30 am, in the hospitality room in the new gym.
IMMUNIZATIONS: Parents of High School students, please check with the Health Department to make sure your child's shots are up to date before school starts. All students who turn 16 years of age before September 1st, 2018, must receive their second dose of MCV4 after their 16th birthday. All other required shots must be taken by October 1st, 2018. By law, any student who has not had the required shots or exemption paperwork on file at the school by the deadline cannot be permitted. Absences due to lack of immunizations will not be excused. 9th Grade Orientation will be held on August 7th at 5:00 pm. It will begin in the Performing Arts Center. All incoming Freshmen and their parents are invited and encouraged to attend! 10th-12th Grade Open House will be held on August 9th at 5:00 pm. It will be in the High School main building. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors And their parents are welcomed! We look forward to seeing everyone and getting ready for a great school year!

Summer School will begin at the High School on Tuesday, June 5th, at 7:30am. Registration is at the front entrance by the office.
ACT Bootcamp will be available for high school students on June 6th and 7th. It will be hosted by ASU Jonesboro personnel and Amanda Brogdon. Student cost is $50.00. Information sheets and sign up form are in the High School office.
Summer School for credit recovery will be available to High School students from June 5th-June 29th. Morning and afternoon sessions are available.
